The Public Relations Officer of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Abiodun Olanrewaju, has confirmed the death of Salako Treasure.

In his words, β€œYes, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University was found dead. Her death looked like suicide but it is yet to be ascertained.

β€œShe was a bright student but her colleagues said they noticed her display signs of depression.

β€œWe also commiserate with her family and friends but we want the youth to know that there are ups and downs in this life and students should not give up when they encounter challenges.

β€œWe also want people to watch out for each other and when they notice any unusual behaviour from their friends and colleagues, they should reach out to them and report to the appropriate quarters for action to be taken.”

Salako, a 100-level student of the Department of Entrepreneurship, was found dead on Wednesday.

It was gathered that her dead body was discovered in an uncompleted building in Lagere area of Ile-Ife.

It was also gathered that friends and colleagues had been searching for her before the discovery of her body on Wednesday.

Beside her was found a bottle of sniper, which was suspected to have been used.

However, it is unclear if the student actually committed suicide. Past records suggest she had been showing signs of depression.
